A
new version of the Lo-Lohm check valve is now available that has been
specifically designed for optimal performance in harsh duty applications.
Constructed entirely of corrosion-resistant stainless steel, the new 440C
Lo-Lohm check features a durable 440C poppet and seat, which provides longer
cycle life and increased resistance to damage from contamination, resulting
in improved overall system performance. Available in forward and reverse
directions in sizes from 0.187 to 0.500" diameter with cracking pressures of
5 +/- 3 and 1 +/- 0.5 psid. Custom check valves can be designed in MP35N for
applications in severely corrosive environments.
The new 281
Zero Leak Pri pressure relief valve is ideal for thermal relief and low flow
hydraulic pressure relief applications where zero leakage is required.
Cracking pressures are available from 1300 to 4700 psid and typical flow
rates range from a few millilitres per minute for thermal relief
applications and up to 250 mL/min for low flow pressure relief applications.
A
new brochure detailing the range of miniature dispense pumps has now been
published. The pumps are available in three types, high and standard
performance LPV models, along with LPL solenoid pumps, in a range of full
stroke volumes from 50 µL to 3000 µL.
These pumps, which are an ideal alternative to conventional syringe or peristaltic pumps, combine a compact, lightweight design, with low power consumption so they can be located wherever fluidic requirements dictate, regardless of maintenance accessibility.
They are designed for consistent, repeatable performance, with a CV as low as 0.04% at full stroke, volume resolution as small as 0.04 µL. Thanks to the use of chemically inert construction materials, Lee pumps are maintenance-free, providing users with the assurance of a reliable operating life of 5,000,000 cycles minimum.
The range provides engineers with optimum flexibility as the high performance LPV models combine speed, size and accuracy with small dispense volumes from 0.04 up to 1.0 µL and pressures to 95 psi, the standard LPV models offer the same reliable, repeatable performance on a smaller scale, with dispense volumes from 0.01 up to 1.5 µL and pressures to 15 psi, while the LPL solenoid models enable consistent, fixed volume dispensing from 50 up to 130 µL (depending on configuration).
Lee pumps are ideal for a wide range of automated liquid handling applications such as systems for in-vitro diagnostics, scientific instrumentation, drug discovery, or wherever high precision, reliable fluids transfer is needed, on a miniature scale.
The
new Series 300 Micro Inert Valve is a 2 way, normally closed solenoid valve
that facilitates higher packing density, enabling more valves to be
positioned in the same area, resulting in smaller manifolds and therefore a
smaller footprint. The LFN centre-to-centre spacing is 0.3" (compared to
0.5" for the previous LFV valve). These valves can also contribute to
savings on material, for example, if engineered plastics such as PEEK, are
used for the manifold. Other benefits include less transport volume thanks
to closer spacing which results in reduced length of the connection passages
in the manifold. This can reduce the amount of reagent needed, whilst also
reducing the transport time of a sample. The LFN valve has a low internal
volume of just 13 microlitres and so reduces the amount of fluid needed
which contributes to lower eagent volume and faster throughput. The LFN
valve also features a faster response time (20mS) and a lower power
consumption (900W) than the LFV micro inert valve.
The 375 Lee Bender Jet® is a low Lohm, multiple-orifice restrictor
designed for systems with high flow rates and large pressure drops. With a
minimum passage of .070” or greater, the 375 Bender Jet offers over three
times the cavitation resistance of a comparable single orifice restrictor
and virtually eliminates any possibility of clogging.
Designed to meet the requirements of 5,000 psi systems, the 375 Bender Jet meets aerospace standards for an unscreened restrictor and is offered in six standard Lohm rates ranging from 125 to 375 Lohms.
Ideal for use in purge air, water injection and liquid fuel applications,
Lee’s new Power Generation Chek® Valves are field serviceable, allowing the
user to disassemble and service the valve using a rebuild kit. Available
with or without a removable, washable Hi-Bar® Safety Screen, the check
valves are designed according to specific customer requirements and can
operate at temperatures up to 450 F.
Featuring low leakage and high flow, each Power Generation Chek Valve is 100% tested and inspected to ensure reliable, consistent, long term performance.
The new miniature 3-way High Flow Solenoid Valve offers dramatic space
and weight savings as well as high reliability and performance. Available in
a single coil configuration, the compact valve weighs just 4 ounces and uses
only 7.8 watts at 28 vdc. Operating pressure is 3,000 psi, and minimum flow
at that pressure is 4.0 USGPM (300 Lohms).
A unique plunger design and innovative materials in the magnetic circuit result in a miniature, low power consumption solenoid with an unusually efficient force/stroke relationship. The use of the patented Lee Multi-Seal enables the hydraulic portion of the valve to be extremely small and compact. This new sealing technology eliminates conventional O-rings and back-up rings, and radically simplifies port layout by allowing two ports to be sealed in the same axial plane.
Lee
Micro-Dispense Nozzles provide a convenient method of accurately controlling
dispensed volumes when used in conjunction with VHS Micro-Dispense Solenoid
valves. Designed for applications where the volume of liquid to be dispensed
is in the microlitre to nanolitre range, these new nozzles are available in
two different configurations for system design flexibility: 062 MINSTAC
threaded ends and straight tube. In addition to the standard stainless steel
dispensing nozzles, a limited number of Teflon coated nozzles are available.
The Teflon coating helps to prevent hanging drops at the end of a dispense.
The new sub-miniature latching solenoid valve is specifically designed
for applications that demand ultra-low power, low heat and small size. These
features make the valve ideal for compact, battery powered pneumatic
instruments such as portable oxygen delivery systems, environmental gas
samplers, and other OEM flow switching devices. The new valve is
magnetically latched and requires only momentary (10 ms) pulses of current
to switch the state. It consumes only 2.8 milliwatt-sec per switch and has
reliable bi-stable performance. Available in plug-in, face mount and ported
soft tube configurations, the valve measures just 1.12" long x 0.28" diameter for
compact manifold applications. The latching valve also features a flow
capacity of 6 slpm at 10 psig and a pressure range of 0-15 psig.
Now available from Lee Products is the VHS micro-dispensing valve. This
high-speed (1,200 Hz), two-way solenoid valve is designed for applications
where size, dispense volume, repeatability and reliability are extremely
important. The small size (0.22" diameter) allows placement of the valve
directly over the individual well centers of standard 96 well micro-titre
plates.
The VHS micro-dispensing valve is available with either a standard (0.05") or small (0.02") diameter outlet port or with an integral jeweled orifice for direct dispensing. The valve also features low power consumption (500 mW maximum) and a 200,000,000 cycle life. Wetted materials include stainless steel, PEEK, PPS and EPDM, ensuring a high level of chemical resistance and a wide range of fluid compatibility.
The Lee HI-BAR Plug is a reliable, leak-tight, threaded plug which has
been designed to seal large passageways in hydraulic and fuel system
manifolds. Rated for system pressures up to 5000 psi and temperatures from -
65 F to 275 F, Lee HI-BAR Plugs offer many advantages over existing threaded
plug designs.
Significant savings are realised in reduced machining, assembly and inspection costs. A drilled and tapped hole is all that is required along with a simple installation tool. Installation is quick and easy and HI-BAR Plugs can be reused several times. The special features of the HI-BAR Plug are; simple installation hole, self-locking feature which eliminates lockwire, elimination of O rings due to the use of the Lee Multi Seal and aluminium and polyamide-imide materials for low weight.
The A.F.O. Plug provides a leak-tight, metal to metal seal in high
pressure, high temperature manifold applications. Designed to be both
removable and reusable, the plugs feature a floating seal that self-aligns
to allow for threaded holes that are not concentric with the through hole.
As a result of the plugs' two-piece construction, the seal does not rotate
during installation, thus preventing galling of the seat. Also, since all
the force is contained in the axial direction, the boss diameter can be
smaller compared to other designs of plug.
Standard A.F.O. plugs are manufactured from corrosion resistant 303 and 15-5PH stainless steel and do not require O-rings or sealants. They are designed to withstand pressures up to 56,000 psi and temperatures to 600F, when fitted into hard materials and can be used in softer materials as well, such as aluminium or plastic.
The plugs are available in sizes from .190" to .750" with UNF threads, however, depending on specific application requirements, special versions can be supplied. A.F.O. plugs have recently been supplied in Monel in sizes up to 1,325" UNF threads to withstand 15,000 psi working pressure and 22,500 psi proof pressure.
A.F.O. Plugs are typically used in the offshore oil industry where applications include subsea wellhead trees, tubing hangers, completion tools, slick joints and down hole tools.
A range of NACE compliant A.F.O. Plugs made from MP35N is also available. These plugs conform to the requirements of NACE MRO175 / ISO 15156 and offer exceptional resistance to corrosion and sealing performance in high pressure, high temperature applications.
The Miniature 2-Way High Flow Solenoid Valve is a two stage version of
the existing Lee piloting solenoid valve, capable of flows up to 6.0 USGPM
at a pressure of 3000 psi. It is available in single and dual coil, normally
open and normally closed models. The valves provide superior performance and
low power consumption applications where weight and space is critical.
The standard valves are configured with leadwires for 18 - 32 Vdc, - 65 to + 275 F but a custom design capability is also available to provide special connectors, different voltages and higher temperatures.

The semi-inert LHIX Series solenoid valve is specifically designed to
handle moderately aggressive liquids and gases in a wide range of fluid
handling applications. The key features of these compact LHIX Series valves
are light weight and low power consumption. This makes them ideal for use in
inkjet printing, gas detection devices, anesthesia and reagent delivery
systems, in addition to other similar OEM flow switching applications. Other
features include enhanced elastomer inertness using (FFKM / PFE) elastomers
and low internal volume.
The valves weigh less then 4.5 grams, measure just 1.12" OAL x 0.28" in diameter and operate with low power consumption of just 550 mW. Flow rates on gases for the 2 way option are; 11 LPM @ 10 psig and for 3 way; 6.6 LPM @ 10 psig. Latching and non-latching designs are available.
To ensure optimum design flexibility LHIX valves are available in plug-in, face mount and ported soft tube configurations. In addition to the FFKM and PFE elastomers, the wetted materials of the valves are; PPS (plunger head), PBT (housing), 316 CRES (spring), Epoxy, along with Lee's alloy for the armature and plunger stop which ensures superior corrosion resistance for more demanding applications.
The 250 Series Solenoid Valve is a 2 position, 3-way miniature piloting
solenoid valve featuring Lee's unique and patented MultiSeal technology
which radically simplifies port layout by allowing total porting flexibility
360 degrees around the seal. The valve is available in normally open and
normally closed models, weighs only 0.1 pounds and power consumption is just
7.2 watts at 12 Vdc.
The Lee Series 120 Solenoid Valve is an ultra-miniature, magnetically
latched, two way solenoid valve, featuring high performance flow switching
characteristics. Weighing just 300 mg, the valve requires only a momentary
1 ms pulse to switch the state (+5 VDC to open, -5 VDC to close) and is
ideal for compact battery powered pneumatic applications such as air
piloting, lab automation (lab-on-a-chip) and other power-sensitive OEM flow
switching devices. The Series 120 Solenoid Valve is only 0.12" O.D. x 0.40"
long but will flow 1 SLPM of air at 5 psid and features reliable bi-stable
performance and quiet operation.
A new version of the AFO (Axial Force Only) plug has been designed to
incorporate an O ring for additional sealing in specialised Oil Tool
applications. The plug is designed to vent air from a product when filling
it with hydraulic oil or to release trapped high pressure gas from an
activated down-hole pyrotechnic tool when brought to the surface. Secondary
retention of the plug in the manifold is provided by a circlip which prevents
the plug from being removed completely from the manifold, thus safely
protecting the operator during the gas venting process.
The Hi-Bar Inlet Safety Screen product line offers a new alternative for
inlet filter screen design. Space and weight are minimised by incorporating
the inlet screen into a fitting, rather than the more traditional approach
of having the screen installed in the manifold directly below the fitting.
This unique design also offers greater flow and dirt holding capacity than a
design that completely encapsulates the screen in the fitting. The safety
screens are machined entirely from 15-5PH and are available in -4, -6 and -8
configurations (AS33514 flareless tube to AS930 port fitting ends which can
be installed into a standard boss per AS33649. Six standard hole sizes
ranging from 0.003" (75 micron) to 0.020" (500 micron) diameter are
available and the screens are rugged enough to withstand pressure
differentials up to 6,000 psi without burst or collapse.
